The NVB NAHASDA/Housing department provides aid to families and individuals seeking affordable homes in a safe, sanitary and healthy environment.

In particular, assisting responsible deserving citizens who cannot provide fully for themselves because of temporary circumstances or factors beyond their control.Providing affordable homes in safe and healthy environments is an essential element in helping NVB tribal members to improve their housing conditions and socioeconomic status.

Through the federal government, the NAHASDA program is able to provide assistance to our tribal members for New Construction (NC) houses, Renovations (REN) to existing homes and Emergency Repair Program (ERP) to existing homes.To date, the NAHASDA program has provided assistance 13 New Construction homes to tribal members, 15 major Renovations to existing tribal members’ homes, and numerous Emergency Repairs (ERP) to homes needing immediate repairs. We have 20 new construction homes waiting to be built for our tribal members, as well as 7 major renovations to existing homes.

Applications can be picked up at the Native Village of Barrow main office building at 6090 Boxer St.
